Case study: How layered lighting shapes the experience of Glenvill Homes’s Bentleigh display
A contemporary home designed with intention at every turn, Glenvill Homes’s Bentleigh display is a refined architectural residence where layout, materials and lighting exist in quiet harmony. Every detail has been carefully considered, not simply for how it looks, but for how it feels to live with.
To support this vision, a layered lighting scheme has been thoughtfully integrated throughout the home. Amphis pieces are woven into the interior, enhancing both atmosphere and functionality, from soft ambient moments to purposeful task lighting.

The approach
Rather than relying on a single layer of ambient light, the scheme for Glenvill Homes’s. Bentleigh display is built on multiple lighting approaches working together. Each fitting has a clear role, contributing to both the function and the feeling of a space.
Eddie, Amphis’s lighting designer, breaks it down. “It’s not about flooding a room with light,” he says. “It’s about placing it with purpose, so every element works together to create the right outcome.”
This layered approach allows each room to shift in mood throughout the day. Task lighting supports everyday use, while indirect and decorative lighting introduces warmth and softness. Each light has a purpose, and the overall scheme is never bright or excessive.
Standout features
Dining
At the heart of the home, a cluster of Kann pendants anchors the dining table. The varying forms add dimension and intrigue, creating a sculptural focal point without overwhelming the space. Their soft, diffused glow introduces warmth and intimacy, a setting designed for connection, where lighting plays an active role in shaping the experience.
Kitchen
In the kitchen, track lighting delivers both precision and flexibility. Positioned above the island and cooking zones, it provides targeted illumination exactly where it’s needed. The clean linear form reflects the kitchen’s refined layout, echoing cabinetry lines and reinforcing the home’s modern aesthetic.
Staircase
The curved staircase becomes a sculptural moment within the home. Trappa step lights provide safe, low-level illumination, guiding movement without harshness.
Above, the Oberon pendant is perfectly framed by the curved architectural form, enhancing the geometry and adding a sense of quiet drama. Together, these elements balance function with visual impact.
Bathroom
Bathrooms can be so much more than purely functional spaces. Baylor Double wall lights transform this room into a place of refuge, casting a soft, candle-like low that invites you to slow down and unwind at the end of the day.
